Crazy Kicker of Week 5

There has been a distressing lack of shenanigans by kickers during this NFL season, so normally Brian Moorman’s run on a fake punt against Jacksonville would be enough to win this week’s crown. But instead, Chiefs punter/holder Dustin Colquitt gets the nod. Ryan was supposed to hold for Ryan Succop on a 51-yard field goal attempt late in the Chiefs/Colts game, but the punter/holder didn’t get the memo right away. That led to a Tweeted picture of Succop waiting from his holder from Late Show writer Eric Stangel, right after this joke. It’s not glorious, but it’s crazy, and so Ryan wins this week’s award.

  1. Jon Ryan is the Seahawks punter. Dustin Colquitt is the Chiefs punter.

Mike, you’re right. Thanks for catching that error. I’ve corrected it above.
