Rise/Sink/Float Week 16

Each Monday, we’ll look at 3 teams that are rising, sinking, and floating in our Football Relativity comparison. We’ll update the full comparison tomorrow.

Rise – San Diego Chargers – It’s old news, since the Bolts won on Christmas night, but their impressive win in Tennessee affirmed that they’re as hot as any team in the league right now. So we’re moving the Chargers to the top of the Football Relativity comparison as we near the playoffs.

Sink – New Orleans Saints – There was no shame in the Saints losing to a desperate Cowboys team, but blowing a lead and then the game against the lowly Buccaneers in another home game is inexcusable. The Saints still might be the class of the NFC, but they’re stumbling into the postseason right now.

Float – Indianapolis Colts – We won’t dock the Colts for sitting Peyton Manning midway through their game against the Jets. If Peyton were to get hurt, the Colts would be completely sunk. Getting other players healthy makes sense too. But the Colts need to show a little better effort next week, or else it will have been a month between their last win and their playoff opener. That’s too long.
