We won our eighth straight week, which hopefully is helping some of you advance in your suicide pools. Here are this week’s picks:
1. Ravens over Bears – There’s only a two-game difference in the standings between these teams, but the Bears haven’t beaten a good team since September. So we aren’t thinking there’s any chance Chicago goes on the road and wins in Baltimore. The Ravens took care of business in a big way against Detroit last week, and we’re picking them to do the same this week.
2. Broncos over Raiders – This is another attractive matchup, as the Broncos have been good at home and have played well the last three or four weeks. The only reason Denver doesn’t move to the top here is so that we can save them for a Week 17 home game against Kansas City.
3. Seahawks over Buccaneers – If you’re stretching to find a team to pick, a decent option is the Seahawks. They’re really good at home, and Tampa Bay’s offense is turning the ball over at a ridiculous rate right now. This is a riskier pick, but it does keep your options the last two weeks open.
Trap to avoid: New England at Buffalo – The Patriots aren’t playing great, and they haven’t won a true road game all year. Plus, the Pats needed a last-minute comeback to bump off the Bills in Foxboro in Week One. Chances are the veteran Pats can get the job done, but it’s not enough of a sure thing to bet on it.
