The preseason comes to an end tonight, but amidst the 15 Thursday-evening games, one game made a splash for its kicking craziness. In most weeks, a surprise onside kick, such as the one Chiefs PK Ryan Succop attempted, is more than enough to win the Crazy Kicker of the Week title. But Succop wasn’t even the craziest kicker on his own team.
That honor belongs to punter Dustin Colquitt, who converted a fake punt into a first down with a 12-yard pass/lob to Terrance Copper. It wasn’t pretty, but it was crazy, and it worked. That makes Colquitt this week’s crazy kicker of the week.
