In most weeks, a fake punt is more than good enough to ensure Crazy Kicker of the Week honors. But week 2 of the preseason was not most weeks. So with apologies to the Buffalo Bills, this week’s winner is San Francisco P Andy Lee.
How crazy did things get for Lee? As a holder on a field goal attempt, Lee dropped a snap and tried to pick it up and throw the ball. He was hit hard on the play, and suffered a hip pointer. The injury was bad enough that Lee could barely hold the rest of the game, and PK David Akers was forced to fill in as a the punter. That, my friends, is crazy, and it makes Andy Lee this week’s Crazy Kicker of the Week. Take a look at the craziness:
